Fernando Ortega

Fernando Ortega is is from Colombia.

Ortega began his education in the traditional dance school ( Cali-Colombia).
At the age of 23 he started to teach Salsa in Madrid and Salamanca in Spain.

Since his arrival in Belgium he has been a member of different dance companies where he learned other techniques, styles and rythms and he again became a teacher of Salsa.

Fernando Ortega has his own dancing company « Cours de danses Afrolatines » located in Brussles where he throws more light on all kinds of aspects of the Afro Latino Culture.

The physical expression is the basis of all movements in dancing. One has to breath and move on the vibrations of the tones of the music in such a way that we dance from the heart and not based on memory.

Ortega is a master in Cuban, Puertorican, Columbian, Latin jazz and New York styles. Yet he doesn’t want to pinpoint to only one style. Salsa still is a sauce with so many ingredients and he would like you to taste it.
